An official opening date for the Broadway incarnation of spider-man - the musical! - has been announced!

spider-man: Turn Off the Dark will officially kick off on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Broadway's Hilton Theatre.

Preview performances of the show will begin Saturday, January 16, 2010.

The production will be directed by Julie Taymor, who helmed Disney's epic musical adaptation of The Lion King.
