Actress Maura Tierney to undergo breast surgery

Actress Maura Tierney was reportedly will undergo a breast surgery to remove a "lump" she said she found on her breast. The report says it's breast tumor but I think that's an incorrect term if the lump to be removed is not yet diagnosed. So I say "lump" is the safe term for it.
Maura says the NBC press release has somehow confused the wordings on her condition and undue alarm on her health.
"I will not know either my exact diagnosis or course of treatment until that surgery is performed. My doctors have all assured me this is a very treatable condition," she goes on.

Actress Tierney is probably most well-known as Dr. Abby Lockhart on ER.
