'American Idol': Mary Murphy To Replace Simon Cowell as a Judge?

Let's Shuffle Up and Deal - There's a shake-up going down on the set of So You Think You Can Dance, as resident judge Mary Murphy is getting the boot -- and is being replaced at the judge's table by choreographer mia michaels.
While Michaels has occasionally taken a seat on the judge's panel during past seasons, Murphy owned the permanent seat next to SYTYCD's Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe and famed Adam Shankman. However, Fox announced on Marh 11 that the switch was taking place for the new season, and Murphy will only be a guest judge and choreographer on the show's seventh season.
It's a surprising switch for fans of the dance competition, especially because Michaels announced she was leaving the series last October. So, should we be concerned about Murphy, and her future with the show? Not according to Lythgoe:
"I'm not worried about it. Mary Murphy is a fabulous judge. She knows what she's talking about and she speaks from the heart."
The judges' switch isn't the only the tweak in store for the new season, as Fox announced last month that past favorites -- SYTYCD "All-Stars" -- will also be returning to the big stage.

If you're wondering how lucrative a gig it is to be a judge on "American Idol," consider this: Elton John turned down $33 million to do it.
That's according to "Access Hollywood," which reported on its Web site on Wednesday, May 12, that Sir Elton won't be replacing Simon Cowell, the acidic British judge whose withering comments are often the most-entertaining part of the show, and who is leaving at the end of this season. The story says it's unknown how long the contract was to run for.
So, If Elton John is OUT!...Then the logical shuffling of the judges' cards for FOX is Mary Murphy(and her "Hot Tamale Train") replacing Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul to come back replacing Ellen DeGeneres.
Is this the best (Royal Flush) hand for FOX?
