Sally Porter places a price tag on a wrecked American Pontiac, an exhibit at 'The Atrocity Exhibition' put on by British author J. G. Ballard and sponsored by the Institute for Research in Art and Technology, Robert Street, London, 1st April 1970. The exhibition demonstrates Ballard's belief that 'the car crash is the most dramatic event we are likely to experience in our entire lives apart from our own deaths'.
