Happy New Year! It may only be September here in
The Real World, but in the world of
Boardwalk Empire, a whole new year of sex, money, scandal- and yes, lots of booze- is just getting started. It's now 1923, and after last year's explosive season finale found both
Oedipus Rex leading man himself, Jimmy Darmody, and his wife, Angela getting the axe (RIP), we're definitely in need of a fresh start. But does a new year mean no new drama? Of course not! There was plenty of that to be found in the Season 3 Premiere, "Resolution."
There were also lots of new changes to be had, from identities (Agent Van Alden) to occupations (Gillian) to business deals (Nucky, the "King" himself). The song du jour was the jazz classic "There'll Be Some Changes Made," which played over both the beginning and end of the episode; if that isn't foreshadowing, I don't know what is.
The first big change we played witness to was that there's a brand new gangster in town, and he may just be the biggest and baddest of them all. His name is Gyp Rosetti, and he has a very interesting way of doing things. Now, when most of us experience poor service when our cars break down, we ask for a refund; not too many choose to beat our mechanics to a pulp and leaving them on the side of the road to die. But Gyp Rosetti isn't like most people, we were quick to learn. --- Start WP Socializer Plugin - Sharethis Button -->...
