Madonna does not have the talent that gaga has, she never did, she was just really smart about her career and it made her iconic but i think gaga is different from Madonna in that she more of an artist then just a popstar

i think Lady Gaga later in time will be princess of pop and then go onto queen cause she does have an amazing voice and if you listen to her sounds they quite very good.....so i think she has potential but she still need to reach for the crown just like the other girls.

I cant even believe we are discussing this??? Watch Lady Gaga and its liek watching the old Madonna, the Madonna that shook the world, revolutionised pop music and pushed the boundaries and envelopes which became a voice for gays, blacks and whites, Madonna is so much more and has 30 years to prove it! GaGa has stolen Madonna's formula and rebranded it, hardly the stuff of legend. GaGa will never cite Madonna as an influence because she knows damn well that the reason she is here IS because of Madonna. Madonna has been here before, Tiffany and Whitney in the 80's, Mariah in the 90's, britney in the 00's but still, here we have the Queen and for this decade its GaGa, its just blindingly obvious that what she faces are clones of herself, none are doing nothing new whatsoever and its about time Madonna got the respect she so rightly deserves. People always cite Michael as an influence but never Madonna, so great is her talent. GaGa is a Madonna clone just like the rest, nothing new whatsoever.

you make it sound like Madonna has no history whatsoever! The fact GaGa's act is identicle to Madonna's past persona's speaks volumes, GaGa is a Madonna clone, Madonna oozes talent and has 30 years experience plus 300 million album sales alone to prove it. Madonna will decide when shes over and it wont be at the whim of some freek to say so, when i saw Monsterball i thought i was watching Madonna from her 1990 Blond ambition tour, GaGa is nothing new.

I think it's too early to say. She's certainly off to a good start though, I don't really like Madonna but I do respect that she's the queen of pop and GaGa has alot to live upto although I'm a big fan. I wasn't around to see Madonna in her prime so I can't really comment on if she's being copied and either can anyone else that hasn't researched back then. I feel like GaGa's in a league of her own tbh, maybe that's how people felt about Madonna. I think Madonna should call it a day now though and good luck to GaGa or anyone new who attempts to take the title.

I think in some aspects she has the chance to be as good if not better. She is more musically inclined then alot of the newbies, she plays piano pretty well actually and can change her styles search her piano only versions but she is young and time can change things.

Madonna is the queen. Lady Gaga is a princess. She is popular right now, but time will prove if she has staying power? However, GaGa changes at a speed of light, and that in itself will be her downfall. People will have a hard time following GaGa, where as Madonna allowed fans to grow with her. Huge difference. While Madonna continued to be a chameleon, GaGa somehow comes across like a clown changing outfits. It is good that GaGa has talent, as that is her saving grace. Oh by the way boys and girls, yes Madonna has incredible talent. The kind that Whitney, Mariah, Janet, j-lo, Gwen, X-tina, britney and now GaGa can all admire, and they do! As does the entire world.

Yeah, let me fill you in - it's a bit different now than when Madonna started in the 80's, which was an entirely different time, with a much simpler way of doing things than now. An artist does not have time to let their audience "grow" with them. You have to be at the top from day one, otherwise the record company will lose interest. Also, to the people who say Lady Gaga is nothing new: well, Madonna was nothing new in the 80's either. She stole everything from Marilyn Monroe and Debbie Harry. She was bashed in the same way the some are bashing Gaga now. Give it twenty years and Watch this space!!! A little quote "Madonna is a no talent, she slept with everyone on the way to the top" - Michael Jackson. Pretty much says it all. LOL

Lady Gaga HAS THE POTENTIAL YES! But lets keep in mind that Lady Gaga is still new. The title "Queen of Pop" or even just "Princess of pop" like Britney Spears, takes a long time to get. I think Lady Gaga can be the next queen of pop if she keeps up her sucess but it will take many years until she earns a title like that

Lady Gaga will deffinately be the Queen Of Pop. I have followed Madonna since the beginning and to me throughout the first 5 years i thought her music was great, but she had absolutely no talent whatsoever. She was just incredibly intelligent about her desicions. Lady Gaga has immense talent, and she's creative, talented, and disciplined enough to become a deffinative Pop Legend. In her 2 short years, she shows the maturity and talent of an artist who's been around for decades. Lady Gaga will be HUGE 10 years from now

There is and only can be one Madonna. Gaga is an original, a breath of fresh air in the pop world. We needed someone like her to come along but never disrespect those who have come before and set the standards...and Madonna set them pretty high. This may seem disrespectful but I feel Madonna had more talent than Michael. He was and is untouchable..what he did for pop can not be replaced but he lost relevence after the early 90's while Madonna kept evolving. Let's not forget that...his gloves, hat, and moonwalk all brillant but from the 80's..Madonna left behind the boy toy fashions and cone bras....her last albums may not have been radio hits but she definately did not let age stop her from being innovative and edgy.

I have followed Madonna for years and often wondered if and when and who could steal Madonna's crown. There was a suggestion that Christina would do it, and that hasn't materialised. Britney is fading fast and Madonna, even though not as influencial as she used to be (to the younger generation in any case) is still going very strong indeed and working her arse off with her finger in many many pies and still breaking records (if not the charts, at least in terms of ticket sales). I really do like Gaga and I genuinly believe that Madonna's crown is in Jepardy. Gaga has been heavily influenced by Madonna and is modelling every aspect of her sound and image on Madonna and has stated that she wants to use Madonna's former blueprint to shake up the music business, which she IS doing! Madonna is extraordinary to still be going head to head with these young girls to exceptionally given that she is in her 50's (for crying out loud!) but time is not on her side any more and her legacy will not be strong enough to carry on her reign when she is no longer 'cool' or making 'hit' records. Gaga will no doubt be going for the next 20 years easily to YES she will, in time, perhaps very soon, steal the crown.

WELL so much for claiming the Queen of Pop title! Her second album is a flop! No UK number 1 from it and sales slumping downward not up! Even GaGa's ex creative director has admitted she modelled GaGa in Madonna's image! Shes a fraud and a glorified clothes horse for talented designers and an ugly one at that! Bye bye GaGa!
