WNBA Los Angeles Sparks player Candace Parker and her husband, Sacramento Kings player Sheldon Williams, welcomed their first child, a daughter, Lailaa Nicole Williams, on May 9.  New mom Candace says “baby is the joy in [her] life.”  More here

Very sad news: Professional golfer Chris Smith’s wife, Beth, was killed on Sunday (June 21) when the vehicle she was traveling in collided head-on with a Greyhound bus.  The couple’s two children were seriously injured in the accident.  MORE

Seven time Tour de France winner,Lance Armstrong has taken a win, just prior to taken on the Tour de France.  The Nevada City Classic is 40 laps on a 1.1 mile course.   Armstrong has not participated in the Nevada City in nearly 18 years.

How beat do these two look?! What a freaking race. It was hot, hard riding, and then on the Time Trial in Rome, it RAINED! Slick cobblestones do not make for an easy race.

Ug, is it over yet? After yesterday’s crash, Lance Armstrong is back on the bus with Levi Leipheimer, and their former teammate Jason McCartney. They talk about yesterday’s uphill finish on the cobblestones, in the rain no less! Good grief! The fans who ride back to the bus with you asking for your things, and the rider who lost his bike on the side of the road while hanging outside of the support car. Crazy!
