STAFF & WIRE REPORTS - Chelsea Clinton, daughter of
former president Bill Clinton and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary
Clinton, has joined the Board of Directors of Barry Diller's internet
holding company IAC/InterActive.
Chelsea will become the
youngest board remember by seven years. She joins fellow directors
Michael Eisner, former chief of Walt Disney and Edgar Bronfman Jr.,
chairman of Warner Music Group.
Chelsea is pursuing a doctorate
at Oxford University. She also works at New York University, the Clinton
Foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative.
Chelsea has served
on the board of serveal non-profits including the School of American
Ballet, the Weill Cornell Medical College and Common Sense Media. She
has held several different jobs in several different industries over the
past five years.
For her stint on the Broad, Chelsea will receive an annual retainer of $50,000 and a $250,000 grant of IAC restricted stock.
has a market cap of $3.4 billion and owns a variety of Internet
companies inducing Match.com, CollegeHumor, Shoebuy.com and CitySearch.
On Tuesday afternoon shares of IAC were up 2.74 percent trading at $41.61.
