Inernet gossip circles have alledged that Christian comedian Mark Lowry is gay and that Christian gospel singer Bill Gaither hasn't said anything against the Rumors.

Since when does anyone have to deny that which is false anyway? The suggestion that Mr. Lowry is gay is nothing more than a smear against this man, his family and clearly indicates a double standard in journalism.

Mr. Lowry should not have to defend himself against something as personal as sexual orientation. And if he were gay, which he is clearly not, who decided that you can't follow Christ and be gay? Mr. Lowry has been smeared by online bloggers who have an agenda.

"Mr. Lowry does not need to address an issue that has no merit other than innuendo and conjecture", said one fan to Music Gossip News.

Mark Alan Lowry (born June 24, 1958) is a Christian comedian, songwriter, and singer, best known for co-writing the song "Mary, Did You Know?. Lowry performed with the Gaither Vocal Band from 1988"2001 and, in January 2009, he re-joined the group along with other "GVB" alumni Michael English and David Phelps. Lowry has recorded twelve albums, both Music and comedy.

Even if he was gay or is gay, what's the big deal. This is the 21st century. Let's be open and accepting of everyone!

I agree 100% with you about everyone being accepting and kind to one another. For the record, I have seen much more Christian bashing then gay bashing on the net and in everyday life.

i dont understand this!how could someone look at someone diffrent because of there sexuality that is not ok i am offended in many ways i dont find this right! say i told everyone that before i was married i dated girls and was confused about my sexaulity but then found mark and now im happy? would you accept that or would you use it against me is my question? would you take away my friendship with you because i was confused? would you mind if i told you that i find a few woman in my life hot? im sorry but i cannot let this go...i was gay! how about that am i not accepted?

My 'gaydar' tells me that he is most likely gay judging from his voice and mannerisms. He should come out of the closet and upset a large number of his fans (if he is any kind of man).

His mannerisms on videos is the personna of the Homecoming Brat, a perennial 10 year old character. If you look closely, he turns this on and off and reverts to normal very quickly. I have seen him in person and there was no spectrum of "gayness" (I worked in an industry for 30 years with many gay men). His speaking voice isn't as strong as it once was in his first videos in the late 1980's, but that is probably due to the fact that he has had Multiple Sclerosis for the last 20 years,or so. So yeah, I would say that this rumor is unfounded.

well being gay according to scripture is as bad as fornication and adultery. Christians sin, they do fall into sexual immorality too. but to say thats ok, is incorrect. can he be a christian and be gay, i would say the answer to that would be the same any other sexual sin, but his relationship would be hindered with Christ as does all who sin. so its not ok, instead of ostracising ppl we are to rebuke them but do it out of love and not disgust or disdain
