Clay Aiken is "thrilled" and "so excited" about the
birth of son Parker Foster, he wrote in a
blog post on his official site Friday.
'The little man is healthy, happy, and as loud as his daddy,' the
American Idol said of the 6 lb., 2 oz. baby born at 8:08 a.m. in North Carolina.
Aiken, 29, referred to Parker's mom Jaymes as 'my dear friend.' The baby was conceived using
in vitro fertilization.
'Mama Jaymes is doing quite well also,' he wrote. 'The Aiken family, the Foster family, and the Parker family are all thrilled.'
.
The crooner has consistently
avoided questions about his sexuality.
'People don't want to have that type of stuff pushed, people who are living in Omaha or in Charlotte or wherever,' Aiken said in April.
'They don't want stuff like that pushed in their face,' he added. 'I don't think that's necessary and that's also not what I'm here for. I mean, I went on Idol to be a singer, I went on Idol to be an entertainer and that's what my priority is.'
