Powell's on the Beat. Colin Powell woke up yesterday morning with a big announcemnt.. The Bush administration's former Secretary of State and the first African-American chairman of the Joint Chiefs, endorsed Barack Obama for president yesterday. Powell, appearing on NBC's "Meet the Press," said "I think that Sen. Obama brings a fresh set of eyes, a fresh set of ideas to the table."
Powell Spoke Highly of McCain. Powell's His friend John McCain was also qualified for the Oval Office, Powell said, but "we need a President that will not just continue, even with a new face and some changes and some maverick aspects, will not just continue basically the policies that we have been following in recent years." Yet, Powell was not shy in dissing Palin when he said, McCain's choice of Sarah Palin as a running mate cast doubt on the Arizona senator's judgment.
