The "Fast and the Furious" franchise is making a hard right turn into a whole new direction. Starting with "Fast Five," opening Friday, Universal is moving its highly lucrative franchise starring Vin Diesel and Paul Walker at full speed from a car racing franchise into a heist thriller franchise, Deadline.com is reporting.
