Just days after Paula Abdul announced that she will not return for a ninth season of American Idol, a FOX executive confirmed that the search is on to replace her.

Rice says producers are looking for "someone who has great chemistry among the panel of judges, which now includes Simon Cowell, Kara Dioguardi, and Randy Jackson.
