Greenville, SC - Bill Gaither and the Gaither Vocal Band kicked off their 2011 Spring Tour this past weekend with stops in Glendale, AZ, Ontario, CA, and Sacramento, CA, perforrming before more than 18,000 people throughout the three days. This weekend marked the reunion of the Gaither Homecoming Tour with one of Christian Music's leading concert promoters, Premier Productions. "It's always exciting to be a part of live Bill Gaither concerts and see the reactions on listeners' faces as they are touched by the Music and message," Gary Gentry of Premier Productions stated following the weekend.
Joining the Gaither Vocal Band for the concert events were The Isaacs, The Martins, The Hoppers, Karen Peck & New River, Gordon Mote, Charlotte Ritchie, Lynda Randle, Gene McDonald, Lisa Daggs and Kevin Williams. "We do not take for granted a person's choice to spend an evening of their precious time attending one of our concerts," Gaither stated. "During these first weeks of our 2011 tour, we have been completely overwhelmed by the response of such wonderful audiences. We came out on the road with the intention of working hard and singing our hearts out so these fine people could enjoy an evening away from the stresses of everyday life; but it turns out that we are the ones who have been blessed by their incredible warmth. Something very special is happening here."
This year marks two decades since Gaither began recording the popular Homecoming series of videos. The West Coast concerts marked the first of 33 stops Gaither and his musical Entourage will make this Spring.
