General Hospital Recap for Week of July 9 to July 13

As Fourth of July fireworks explode over Port Charles, sparks ignite among some surprising couples (Sam and John; Starr and Michael) and not so surprising (Carly and Johnny).
At the docks, John and Sam lock lips. Unfortunately Jason sees them. As Jason moves into the shadows, Sam breaks away. Did John hear something? John shakes his head and grabs Sam for another kiss. Later Sam and John are regretful, blaming their actions on alcohol. John says they crossed a line and made a mistake. Sam agrees; where does this leave them? Two strangers who have this strong mysterious connection? Despite John's feelings for Sam, he still loves fiance Natalie and their son Liam. John is worried about Sam, but decides to return home to Llanview, Pennsylvania. Sam asks if John will tell Natalie that they kissed. John isn't sure, so Sam advises him to do what he needs to do to keep his family together. Why wreck that over a stupid kiss? John tells Sam he will miss her as she blinks back the tears. Meanwhile we see a photo of Sam and John kissing on someone's laptop, meaning someone is spying on them!
Jason runs to his favorite bridge where he angrily pounds the railing.Elizabetharrives looking for Cameron's iron man action figure. She asks Jason what is wrong, so Jason tells her that he saw Sam kiss John.Elizabethdefends Sam, but Jason snaps at her. He appreciatesElizabeth's friendship, but just stop.Elizabethadmits all she wants to do is help-which leads to a kiss. Jason pulls away and apologizes.Elizabethunderstands and posits that Sam kissed John because she is grieving.
At the Quartermaine mansion, Starr smiles and kisses Michael again. Michael pulls away, apologizing. Starr, however, is not sorry they kissed. She wants to explore what is going on between them, but go slow. Michael takes Starr's hand. How about a date?
At the Drake house, fireworks of the worst kind explode between Patrick and Maxie/Lulu. Lulu and Maxie accuse Patrick of being on drugs. Defensive Patrick accuses Maxie of creating drama where there is none. Maxie cringes as Lulu gets in Patrick's face; just show her the prescription for the drugs and she will back off. Patrick admits he doesn't have one. He breaks down, explaining how hard it has been to live without Robin. So what if he needs some drugs to make it through the day? Maxie pleads with Patrick to let them help him as Lulu points out that Emma could get hurt. Is that what Patrick wants? Patrick wipes the tears away, clearly not liking what he hears. Lulu and Maxie urge him to see a doctor, who can supervise Patrick's meds if it is decided that Patrick needs them. Maxie holds out her hand; where are the rest of the pills? Patrick hands them over and heads to bed as Lulu warns Maxie that this isn't over. People just don't get recover from drug dependency that quickly.
