Britney Spears has decided to get drop a bad gremlin from her life and has kicked her controlling ex-manager to the curb. Sam Lutfi had managed her career right up until her meltdown last spring. There's been a restraining order against Lutfi in place since February 1 and he cannot come within 250 yards of his former meal ticket or any of her homes. The court order is set to expire today (July 31) and Britney is hoping Lutfi will go away quietly so that she won't have to have it re-instated. Attorney Samuel D. Ingham told The Associated Press in a statement, "Britney has made clear to everyone that she does not want to be further harassed or contacted in any way by Osama 'Sam' Lutfi, now or at anytime in the future.' Britney's mother made accusations that it was Lutfi who drugged the pop queen, held her hostage, controlled her finances, and was responsible for her spiraling out of control last spring.
Britney Spears has dashed hopes she'll have a second attempt at a career comeback by taking to the MTV stage later this year for the network's forthcoming Video Music Awards (VMAs). The pop star shocked audiences last year with a shaky performance of her hit song Gimme More, baring her belly and stumbling across the stage. Spears' comeback performance at the awards show has been rumored in recent weeks - after her hair stylist Kim Vo reported he was creating styles for the singer's forthcoming show to E! News. However, the singer's manager Larry Rudolph has reportedly hit back at the claims. According to Los Angeles radio talk show host Ryan Seacrest, Rudolph has confirmed the star "is in the middle of recording her next album, which is going amazingly well, and was never supposed to perform at that show," adding: "Britneywill not be performing at the VMAs this year. I'm telling you officially and unequivocally." But Spears' involvement in the ceremony has not been totally scrapped - the Toxic hit-maker can be seen in a promotional video with host Russell Brand, rapper LL Cool J, and Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz. She has also secured nominations for two awards at the ceremony - Best Female and Best Pop Video categories, for her track Piece of Me. The MTV VMAs show is set to air on September 7th. -

We all know Britney Spears lip syncs in concerts and most people are okay with that given her non-stop dance moves for an hour on stage. However, an old video posted online this weekend of a recorded feed of her open mic make it very clear that Brit can't sing a note! The pop star's real singing voice isn't apparent to her fans in the audience because they are hearing the song's dubbed version being played over the speakers. Oh, snap! Leave Britney Alone! She's just a huuuman being! Take a listen .... but you'll be sorry for it.
Troubled pop star Britney Spears has credited her father Jamie with saving her life - after he stepped in to help her following a series of breakdowns. The Gimme More hitmaker was hospitalized at the beginning of this year under a mental health order, and her father subsequently took over her legal and business affairs - becoming conservator of her estate. Spears was also stripped of visitation rights to her two sons, but following several months under the guidance of her dad she has won back the right to see her children and is now working on a career comeback. And Spears insists she will always be grateful to Jamie for helping her sort her ...
A judge on Wednesday refused to dismiss a misdemeanor driving without-a-valid-license case against Britney Spears. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James A. Steele issued his ruling after reviewing statutes cited by prosecutors and Spears' attorney, J. Michael Flanagan. The ruling means the singer may go on trial in October. Flanagan had asked for that the case be dismissed during a hearing on Tuesday. He said that prosecutors were targeting Spears because she is a celebrity. He said that, normally, people cited for similar offenses are ordered to pay a fine if they can produce a valid license. Steele's ruling disagreed, saying prosecutors pr...
