Ida Maria
explains throat illness
Ida Maria has spoken out about the serious throat illness that forced her to cancel appearances at T In The Park and Oxegen Festival last month.
She told NME:
'It was quite serious, the doctor said I was absolutely forbidden from doing anything.'
Ida said she was now on her second round of antibiotics but was now recovering.
She explained:
'It was deeply painful to cancel the shows, because I'd never really cancelled anything before.
I feel sorry for the people who wanted to see us play.'
Ida also revealed that her recovery may be helped by the crowd knowing the words now that her debut album, Fortress Round My Heart, has been released.
Norwegian crooner Ida said:
'It's going to be wonderful. It will be a huge difference having the album out.
I'm looking forward to getting some extra backing singers in the crowd!'
