Jennifer Hudson will embark on her first solo tour in early April. (Video)

After easing back into the spotlight with performances at the Super Bowl and Grammys since the tragic slaying of her mother, brother and nephew last year, the singer has announced that she'll be kicking off her first solo tour.

"I am so grateful - my first Grammy and my first tour. It doesn't get better than that," Hudson said.

The former American Idol contestant will be accompanied on tour by R&B singer Robin Thicke.



The tour will kick off on April 2 in Philadelphia and wrap in Houston on May 8. Other concert stops include Baltimore, Washington, D.C, New York City, Detroit, Atlanta, Memphis, St. Louis, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Dallas.
