Jerry O'Connell admits he made a big mistake. The star of the new sitcom Do Not Disturb is apologizing to wife Rebecca Romijn - who is pregnant with twin girls - for joking about her size when he appeared on a late-night talk show Friday. "I regret calling my wife 'huge' on Conan O'Brien," O'Connell tells PEOPLE. "I meant to say that there are specific areas of my wife that are larger than normal and growing every day. All other portions of my wife are quite petite. I apologize to her and will be coming home with flowers."O'Connell, 34, and Romijn, 36, who will appear on Ugly Betty again this fall, expect their daughters this winter.

A public mistake requires a public apology. I think it would make a big impression on regular women, but does it have the impact on celebrities like Romijin?
