My favourite scene from the opening episode of Boardwalk Empire. In a moment of understated perfection Al Capone introduces himself to Jimmy Darmondy.

Quick libertarian note: this show extremely effectively depicts what happens when you ban a drug of any kind. It doesn't go away, instead it increases in price, becomes mixed with unknown and often dangerous impurities and the entire industry goes underground and gets handled by criminals which leads to an ever increasing cycle of violence as profit margins become larger and larger.
The failure of prohibition should be evidence enough on its own that the current "war on drugs" is unwinnable and destructive, but if you're interested in the specific arguments, please go here and join the forums if you disagree and want to say why:
