Joaquin Phoenix may be a better actor than I give him credit for (or, you know, not). A person who recently worked with Joaquin swears that he heard the words "It's a put-on. I'm going to pretend to have a meltdown and change careers, and Casey is going to film it" come out of the actor's mouth. Could this mysterious person be someone related to Phoenix's future rap career? His manager? Because really, it takes a lot of faith to believe that Phoenix's incoherent musical stylings and falling off of a stage in Las Vegas is the result of rational thinking and not copious amounts of hallucinogenic drugs.
