John Stamos is giving back with his latest endeavor, Project Cuddle, a charity that aims to save babies from being abandoned. The former Full House star talked with PopEater about his philanthropic pursuits, and it sounds like all the baby talk is making him want some kiddos of his own. Of Project Cuddle, Stamos said, "My mom was friends with the founder, Debbe Magnusen. She was saving babies out of her home. She started an 800 number to help girls who were thinking about abandoning their babies and also finding homes for abandoned babies. It's just one of those charities where it came to me like, 'Wow, I can really make a difference,' because she needed exposure."
For his part, the actor wants to spread the word that new moms have options. He added, "Part of it is to get awareness out that there are safe haven laws. A lot of these girls who call are hiding the babies from their parents and boyfriends and don't get prenatal care."
Kudos to Stamos for making a difference. And even though he says he's not dating anyone special at the moment, he is itching to become a dad. He said, "I love kids, and I think that's the one thing that's really missing in my life. I hope to be a parent someday."
Stamos showed up on an episode of Dancing With The Stars, but just as a viewer, not a contestant. When asked about the appearance, Stamos revealed that he has been approached about going on the show for real, but he's hesitant.
He said, "I'm not a very good dancer and I would completely embarrass myself."
