MAN! It feels like it's been forever since I went to Kanye's concert in April. It was the most amazing experience I've ever undergone. I literally...literally, cried three times. For instance when he sang about his mom, in 'Hey Mama' I immediately sympathized with him because I know what the recent loss of a mother feels like and it's the most devastating feeling imaginable. After he sung the song he took a seat and drank some water, clearly hurting inside. He then played the song 'Don't Stop Believing' which really got me going because I LOVE JOURNEY! I'm know...Black people shouldn't be loving Journey, but so WHAT! KANYE DID IT OKAY! lol.
I paid a ridiculous amount for these tickets to Kanye at the Staples Center on June 7th, but it's completely worth it because that man truly inspires me. It's amazing -- art. The power of art to change minds, woo hearts, and lift spirit is unprecendented! What else do you know of that can do that? Nothing?
Sex? Not really...it lifts something but not spirit.
Drugs? You get high but when you come down your a pile of doo doo.
Anyone whose anyone, even if you're not a Kanye fan, even if you don't like music, even if you are parapelegic, GO SEE MY MAN KANYE WEST! He has this huge ass IMAX screen behind him doing some crazy video presentation of speeding stars and such, showing that he's moving through galaxies. He takes the majority of his songs, turns them into one story, makes a damned musical out of it, and runs away with your heart and soul.
Okay...maybe not to that extent, but it's pretty damned close. And to top it off, after the performance he hands out a booklet basically explaining his life philosophy, further inspiring the fans...
What a guy.
