Lionsgate planning 'Leprechaun' remake

Variety are reporting that Lionsgate and WWE Studios, who previously worked together for the Kane-starring slasher flick See No Evil, are re-teaming for a remake of the 1993 film Leprechaun, which is probably best known for a) starring a young Jennifer Aniston; and b) spawning a gazillion sequels. There's no news on a writer, director or cast for this remake as yet.
