NBC, Mark Burnett Launching Reality Series to Rival Idol

NBC has ordered The Voice of America, a series the network hopes will rival Fox's singing competitions American Idol and The X Factor.

From executive producer Mark Burnett (the man behind Survivor, The Apprentice and Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?), the series is scheduled to premiere in spring.
