Rumor: Mike Newell in Talks To Direct The Lone Ranger?

The rumor buzz on some of the tracking boards is that Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire director Mike Newell is in talks with Disney to direct The Lone Ranger. The film is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, who is also in charge of Newell's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,which I hear is shaping up good, so it makes sense.
