Adapted from Jonathan Safran Foer's book, and with the all-star cast of Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock, Viola Davis, Jeffrey Wright, John Goodman, Max von Sydow and Teen Jeopardy champion Thomas Horn, "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" will open in US theaters on 20 January 2012.
The story follows a 9-year-old inventor searching New York City for a key left behind by his father, who died in the World Trade Center on 9/11.
Director Stephen Daldry has been nominated for 3 Oscars, having directed "The Reader," "The Hours" and "Billy Elliot."
