Barack Obama has asked Sex and the City's Sarah Jessica Parker to be one of his advisers on the arts.

Other Hollywood names, including Oscar-winner Forest Whittaker and Desperate Housewives star Alfre Woodward, are among 25 new appointees to his arts and humanities committee.

He also wants Anna Wintour, London-born editor of Vogue and cellist Yo-yo Ma.

New committee members will also be asked to
