The Soap Opera Network will go dark in 2012 to make way for a new network of children's programming.

SoapNet mainly airs repeats of broadcast network daytime soap operas - like All My Children, One Life to Live, and the now-defunct Passions - as well as primetime shows like One Tree Hill and Gilmore Girls.
