The NYSE relaxed is strict dress code August 21 for the first time in its history, according to a NYSE spokeperson, allowing traders to wear jeans on the floor of the storied exchange as part of a promotion with the Gap clothing company. Stocks moved sharply higher as Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said that the economy is heading toward a recovery.
