Reporting Live as Watching SNL. This past week Mark Wahlberg took a lot of grief from folks in the media -- including this blogger -- were ready to tar and feather Wahlberg for a SNL sketch Andy Samberg performed that consisted of the comic impersonating Wahlberg talking to an assortment of real animals. And yet, we've all been suckerpunched by Wahlberg who actually showed up on SNL and made fun of himself, the Samberg Sketch and even had live airtime with Lorne Michaels and a donkey.
Wahlberg on SNL. Earlier in the week, everyone was alll over Wahlberg for saying, "Saturday Night Live hasn't been funny for a long time," Wahlberg said. "They've asked me to do the show a ton of times. I used to watch it when Eddie Murphy was there and Joe Piscopo and Bill Murray. I don't even know who's on the show now." And yet, Wahlberg was very much at ease on the live show, acting all aggressively to make fun of himself and repeatedly using Andy Samberg's line: "Say hello to your mother for me."
Mark Wahlberg Talk to Animals. So what do you think? Was the original "Mark Wahlberg Talks to Animals" sketch funny? Well folks... this evening Wahlberg talked to a donkey live on SNL and it was hillarios. So what do I think now of Wahlberg... well, Wahlberg's could it be that his entire reaction turned out to be a farce and is his way of generating buzz for his new movie Max Payne? I think so.
On a final note, Sarah Palin showed up, and guess what folks... she also had a great sense of humor picking on herself!
