20th Century Fox has hired Rupert Wyatt to develop and direct a prequel to Planet of the Apes. Wyatt directed The Escapist which premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival to medium buzz and decent reviews. I wasn’t taken by the movie, but I know it was one of Alex from FirstShowin...

The story is...

I’ve been waiting for Black to step back into the director’s chair for five years now. His feature directorial debut, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, is one of my favorite films of the past decade, mostly due to Black’s incredible script and partly due to...

Confessions of a Shopaholic star Isla Fisher is set to star in a high concept romantic comedy titled Kiss and Tell for Universal Pictures. Based on a pitch by Dax Shelby and Robert Stevens, the story follows a woman who discovers she has the ability to see the exact length of a long-term relationship, and how it will unfold, when she kisses a man. Sounds like a marketable high concept premise.

I don’t usually cover “wish fulfillment stories”. For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about, an interviewer at a junket asks a movie star, director or screenwriter if they’d ever do another sequel or remake of some popular movie. When faced with this question, the interviewee almost always says something like they’d love to do another one, if the story was right, and all the creative
