Thanx for your take on this shoot, RF. I was mulling over why RTP would even do such an in-your-face photoshoot like Details and your explanation would indeed make sense. From what I've read, both Little Ashes and Bel Ami both have fairly explicit scenarios in them, so I can't help wondering how Rob felt about them afterwards? Cait

Hey. He was on video at the Oscars saying that he did the Little Ashes movie when he had been unemployed for a long time after Harry Potter. He did not realize there would be so "much naked stuff" in it and he said he regretted it. It was hard for him as he worried that the Ashes movie would ruin his chances at Twilight being a hit as in Ashes he has scenes with the guy playing Lorca. That actor is married and straight and Rob said it was weird to be acting out gay scenes when they both are straight. They agreed they had weird jobs. Rob thought if he played some weirdos like Art in How To Be and Ashes he could learn to act as he had little formal training. He said this on his first Twilight interview. He is a good actor. Watch him in The Good Mother's Handbook and The Haunted Airman. He is extremely watchable and compelling on screen. He did little BBC tv movies too.. check IMDB.com

That is not my interpretation of why he did it ...HE SAID IT. He explained that his management wanted him to do it and that he did not know what to say to these nude women. He felt like it was tastefully done and like porn used to be ---kind of artsy and not in your face like now days. He looked so uncomfortable...mainly because he does not objectify women. If you are a romantic, you feel like sex is between people who are in love. Anybody may get excited by seeing erotic scenes or nudity but it does not mean that you would want to be sexual with them. In general, men are able to have sex for the sake of pleasure easier than women can. In other words, women are able to make love if they feel comfortable and feel secure with the person they are with. Men in general, are less restricted. That is why when women have sex with someone they are not in love with or feel loved by, they usually don't enjoy it as much. I write this because so many young people rush into sex and then wonder why they did not get very much out of it. Having sex with strangers takes the magic out of it until it seems like just a body function.

Thanx again for further elaboration. I do understand and would tend to agree w/your position on nudity and sexuality in the scenarios described. And I am aware of RTP's filmography overall and hope that some of his performances made strictly for UK audiences will be made available to American viewers as well. I have only been a fan for a few months and have not had the time (or energy - phew!) to explore the myriad of videos, etc., extant online, so do appreciate the input of others such as yourself who have invested many hours of research in seeking out the truth regarding much of the misinformation circulating on the 'Net. I have read material on several of the major RTP fansites, and these boards by and large mirror or accept as 'gospel' the conventional wisdom of the sources promulgating their supposed scoops on all things Rob. It's indeed refreshing to find a site (i.e., a fan) that does not buy into everything the mainstream is touting. Thanx again...
