Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) Salvatore are 170-year-old vampire brothers who return to Mystic Falls, their hometown. Stefan goes undercover as a high school student to get closer to Elena (Nina Dobrev), who bears a striking resemblance to Katherine, a former love. But since Damon has promised Stefan an "eternity of misery" for some reason, I'm guessing that this vampire-meets-girl story is not going to go
