MTV reality star Tila Tequila has been taken to hospital after allegedly being attacked by her NFL star boyfriend.

The Shot At Love starlet received medical attention following a reported altercation with San Diego Chargers player Shawne Merriman.

According to reports, the San Diego Sheriff's Department received a disturbance call from Tila "Tequila" Nguyen at 3.35am on Sunday.

The sheriff's public information officer Jan Caldwell said:
