Tom Cruise officially signs on for 'One Shot'

Tom Cruise has officially signed up for the Jack Reacher film One Shot. There are 15 Jack Reacher books in total, written by Lee Child, so the hope seems to be for these to develop into a franchise.
Deadline announced the news, and Cruise will be joining director Christopher McQuarrie for the film. No other news is available. He should begin shooting One Shot after he's finished Joseph Kosinski's Oblivion.
