She may be battling to save her marriage, but Trinny Woodall also seems preoccupied with establishing a close friendship with Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves.
The What Not To Wear presenter has just returned from Los Angeles, where I understand she tried more than once to set up informal meetings with Reeves - but he failed to respond, and even snubbed a dinner party in her honour.
Sources close to the glamorous presenter, who has been pictured without her wedding ring, say she is 'devastated' by the recent troubles in her marriage to former rock drummer turned financial adviser Johnny Elichaoff, 49.
The 44-year-old mother of one - she is seven months older than Reeves - flew to LA for a holiday and had hoped to meet the actor during her trip.
The unlikely pair first met in London through a mutual friend and I hear that Trinny - who was staying in LA with her close friend, British artist Amanda Eliasch - wanted to reconnect with the Matrix starTrinny met Keanu through a friend in London and they really clicked,' says a source.
'Trinny was desperate to meet him again in LA.
'She asked Amanda to throw a welcome dinner for her and the plan was for Keanu to come along to the party last weekend, but he didn't show. Trinny was really disappointed because she was hoping they could catch up.'
Other attempts to arrange meetings also fell flat, the source added.
Trinny, who has fought a well documented battle with alcoholism, has told friends that she is determined to make a name for herself in America.
She is understood to have had meetings with agents and TV executives while in LA.
'Trinny's plan is to conquer the States,' says a chum. 'She channels her addictive personality into furthering her career.
'Part of the reason her marriage is under strain is because she is so focused and Johnny just can't seem to get his life on track. He has promised he is trying to sort himself out, but until he does Trinny plans to move on with her life.'
A spokesman for the presenter said last night: 'Trinny was in LA catching up with friends but we never comment on her private life.'
