Despite still being relegated to work in the evidence warehouse, Peter can't help but get involved when an old case comes back in their laps when Sarah pays him a visit. Turns out the widow the FBI thought murdered her husband a year ago isn't guilty and now stands to inherit millions. Sarah plans to stake out the memorial service and brings Peter along.
Things take a nasty turn when Sofie Covington, the widow, is almost kidnapped leaving the service but thanks to Neal the attempt is thwarted. Looks like this case has now just taken another crazy turn.
Back at the office, Peter, who has gotten permission to consult on the case, convinces Neal that he must get close to Sofie in order to find out the connection to Wilson Mahler, her deceased husband's business partner. While there seems to be something going on they haven't figured out just yet what it is.
Neal does what he does best and makes "nice" with Sofie which then allows the team to get close enough to the PI who's been following her and find out what he's up to. Turns out Mahler's wife has kept the PI on retainer for quite some time due to the fact she believes her husband is cheating. But up till now he's come up empty handed; nothing's going on.
After putting their heads together and going over the evidence, they conclude that Mahler is actually the one who tried to kidnap Sofie and is after the insurance payment she is set to receive. A plan is put in motion after she asks Neal to accompany her to a charity event. The ground work is set; Mahler is set up to find out about Neal and Sofie and led to believe that he's got competition for the money.
Unfortunately, the plan is diverted just a bit when Neal realizes Sofie's driver is actually working for the enemy and does what's necessary to keep her out of harms way, thus placing himself in danger. --- Start WP Socializer Plugin - Sharethis Button -->...
