The film and former 'Saturday Night Live' star speaking Friday at the Television Critics meeting in the Los Angeles area by satellite from New York, explained "there's nothing derivative about the production".
Ferrell expressed that people will be surprised with its "twists and turns and what it has to say about Bush'.

Adam McKay, who also spoke, said the show "aims to be funny but also hold the Bush administration's feet to the fire".
Will Ferrell makes his Broadway debut with his new one-man show "You're Welcome America. A Final Night with George W Bush" will officially open on Thursday, February 5th, 2009, with previews starting on January 20th.
The show will be directed by
Adam McKay, Ferrell's longtime collaborator, and director of the comedy classics Anchorman, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, and this summer's box office hit Step Brothers
